Samantha's Lover Name Finally Out !!!

Siddharth, one of the industry’s most eligible bachelors despite his past hiccups with marriage, has stated that he is ready for marriage now more than ever. With an interview to a leading publication it is more or less determined that Siddharth and Samantha are indeed seeing each other.

The two will be seen onscreen together in a Telugu film titled Jabardasth, the Tamil version Dum Dum Pee Pee though has been stalled due to legal issues. Siddharth and Samantha’s pairing up was made even more obvious as they, along with their family, performed rituals together at a famous temple recently.

Siddharth has mentioned in the interview that he would like to have a family and children real soon and it looks to be only a matter of time before an official announcement is made by either one of the stars.

Vishwaroopam: A Riveting Spy Thriller

Andrea and Kamal Haasan in Vishwaroopam ..

We were one of the few to have watched an early screening of Vishwaroopam in its entirety before talks of the ban emerged in Hyderabad. In content and technical finesse, the film breaks new ground for regional cinema. In these troubled times, it must be emphasized that the film does not hurt sentiments of any community.

Everyone here has a double role to play, Andrea Jeremiah tells Pooja Kumar at a crucial juncture in the film. Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam is a technically brilliant, ambitious film where most characters are not what they seem. The actor-director deals with an international espionage drama through a layered screenplay, trusting the intelligence of his audience to connect the different threads of the story.

Vishwanath (Kamal Haasan) is a Kathak teacher who lives with his wife Nirupama (Pooja Kumar), a nuclear oncologist, in New York. Nirupama confides it’s a marriage of convenience that provided her a safe shelter while she pursued her Ph.D in the U.S. The age gap between them notwithstanding, she is put off by Vishwanath’s effeminate traits. She smells something fishy about her husband and hires a private investigator to trail his every move.
In a sudden turn of events, the investigator gets killed by a member of a terrorist outfit. A visiting card on his purse gives away the names of Vishwanath and Nirupama and the terror group nabs the couple. The outfit operates from a warehouse and is headed by Omar (Rahul Bose), severely injured from the past.

Omar and Vishwanath have a past, one that takes the story back by almost a decade, to the Al Qaeda training camps in Afghanistan. What follows is a maze of events that go back and forth in time, unravelling an international spy thriller that keeps you guessing for most parts.

Nirupama is stunned to discover the true identity of her husband, his uncle (a cameo by Shekar Kapur) and the young dancer (Andrea Jeremiah) at her husband’s dance school. Together, they try to counter the plans of Omar and his group that could destroy New York.

Vishwaroopam is engaging, keeps you engrossed and as you try to make a semblance of the puzzle, several questions arise. Kamal Haasan sets up an interesting premise for part 2.

Sanu Varghese’s spectacular cinematography becomes as important as the actors in this thriller. The camera takes us into the dangerous alleys of New York and the muddy, rugged terrain of Afghanistan. In the opening sequence involving pigeons, Varghese captures the mood of the birds giving us a hint of an ominous force at work.

The songs composed by Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy gel with the narrative of the film and the trio experiments with different genres to offset the mood in Afghanistan.

Pooja Kumar is expressive and convincing as a young woman coming to terms with her husband’s identity all of a sudden. Andrea Jeramiah has a smaller role and according to the makers, she has a crucial role in Vishwaroopam 2. Rahul Bose is menacing, with his tarnished look and damaged voice making him appear more evil.

Kamal Haasan morphs from identity to the other with ease, like he’s done several times in the past. He draws chuckles with his effeminate gestures and delivers an understated performance in the Afghan segment.
It’s a film that needs to be watched closely to follow the different aspects of the story. The graphic violence in some sequences make it unfit for viewing by children.

Vishwaroopam is a good watch for a discerning movie lover.

Cast: Kamal Haasan, Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah, Rahul Bose and Shekar Kapur
Direction: Kamal Haasan
Music: Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy
Plot: A couple and their friends try to save New York from a terrorist threat.
Bottomline: A gripping spy thriller of international standards

Woman Home Guard Molested on Delhi Bus - This Wednesday

A 25-year-old woman home guard was molested inside a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus here Wednesday, police said. The accused was thrashed by a mob, hospitalised and later booked.

The incident took place in a low-floor bus in east Delhi's Madhu Vihar area.

Police said the accused, Ranjit, 32, was handed over to police after he was beaten up by other passengers on the bus.

His leg had a fracture and he was taken to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, said a police officer. He was discharged after treatment and booked for molestation.

Asaram Bapu Shocks, Telling Girl Is Only Responsible for Delhi Gangrape, Demands To Save Rapists

Addressing his followers recently, Asaram said that when the girl encountered six drunk men "she should have taken God's name and could have held the hand of one of the men and said I consider you as my brother and should have said to the other two 'Brother I am helpless, you are my brother, my religious brother.'

She should have taken God's name and held their hands and feet...then the misconduct wouldn't have happened."

He also went on to say, "Mistake is not committed from one side."

The girl was gangraped on the night of December 16 in a moving bus and died nearly a fortnight later at a Singapore hospital.

"The accused were drunk. If the girl had chanted hymns to Goddess Saraswati and to Guru Diksha then she wouldn't have entered the bus...," he added.

 My Question Is:

Will Mr. Asaram  Bapu tell the same advice to her daughter, if she is raped by six men brutally at time .. ??

Mr. Asharam, remember that its easy to hurt by words .. But, it ll pain a lot to the victim's family.

Woman Raped, Burnt Alive For Rejecting Marriage Proposal

A 25-year-old mother of two was allegedly gangraped before being burnt alive for having spurned a man who wanted to marry her, police said on Tuesday.

The victim was raped by four men, including three brothers distantly related to her, at her Adarsh Gharkul building residence in Antop Hill locality of central Mumbai on Monday and then set ablaze. She succumbed to burn injuries at a city hospital early on Tuesday morning during treatment.

The accused, identified as Rajesh Devendra (30), Kumar Devendra (28), Nitya Devendra (25)-- (all three are brothers) --and their friend Shankar Mudaliyar (35) have been arrested.

Though the police said the exact motive behind the cruel act was being investigated, a relative alleged she was killed as the family had rejected Nitya Devendra's proposal to marry her a few years ago.
"Nitya wanted to marry her, but we rejected the proposal for some reasons," said Krishna Reddy, a relative of the deceased.

Police said the victim was alone when the desperadoes forced their way into her house. "According to the victim's dying declaration, the four raped her one by one. When she told them that she will lodge a police complaint, they set her on fire after pouring kerosene," said senior inspector D N Deokar of Antop Hill police station.

The victim's husband Raju Devendra, who works as a sweeper in civic body office in suburban Chembur, and her two children -- a three-year-old daughter and an infant son -- were not present in the house when the incident occurred, Deokar said.

He said the four were arrested on the basis of her dying declaration. The accused brothers live in the same building while their friend Mudaliyar stays in the same locality.
Rajesh and Kumar work as security supervisors with a developer while Nitya works in a motorbike Showroom. Shanker is a driver by profession.

Fasting Protester At Jantar Mantar Hospitalised

One of the two men on hunger strike demanding death for the culprits in the Delhi gang-rape case here had to hospitalised Sunday due to failing health, his brother said.

Rajesh Gangwar, 45, from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh, came to Delhi Dec 24. His hunger strike entered its 14th day Sunday, when he was taken to nearby Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in the evening.

"He was feeling very weak and the cold weather was taking its toll as well. He did not want to go and was determined to stay here, but he needed help immediately," Rakesh Gangwar, Rajesh's brother, told IANS.
Gangwar was agitating along with Babu Singh, 40, a farmer from Farrukhabad, also in Uttar Pradesh, who is on day nine of his fast. Singh now holds fort at the historic Jantar Mantar observatory in the heart of the capital.

"I will continue the hunger strike until proper punishment is meted out to those involved in the crime. I am not giving up that easily," Singh told IANS as he wished Gangwar speedy recovery.

Both men braved the Delhi winter, as the city's minimum temperature this year plunged to new lows.
The two men have also been demanding fast-track courts across the country to try rape cases, and three months' disposal time for all such cases.

Two more organistaions -- Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena (BSKS) and the 'Citizen 4 Forces' -- began an indefinite hunger strike in the national capital.

"I demand speedy justice for the gang-rape victim. I have decided to sit on an indefinite hunger strike till that happens," said Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, president of BSKS.

Delhi Gang Rape Victim's Father: I Want The World To Know My Daughter's Name

Badri Singh Pandey : Father of Jyoti Singh Pandey

She is known to the world only as India’s Daughter following her sickening gang rape and murder.
But today, with permission of her devastated father, we can reveal her name: Jyoti Singh Pandey.
Brave dad Badri, 53, told The Sunday People: “We want the world to know her real name.
“My daughter didn’t do anything wrong, she died while protecting herself.
“I am proud of her. Revealing her name will give courage to other women who have survived these attacks. They will find strength from my daughter.”
We interviewed Badri and his family in his ancestral village of Billia in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

They have retreated there to grieve away from their Delhi home – a place that will constantly remind them of the barbaric sexual attack Jyoti, 23, was subjected to when she and a male friend were lured on to a bus.
His wife Asha, 46, was too shell-shocked to talk to us.

Badri said: “At first I wanted to see the men responsible face to face but I don’t want to any more. I just want to hear that the courts have punished them and they will be hanged.

“Death for all six of them. These men are beasts. They should be made an example of and that society will not allow such things to happen.”
Recalling the day he found out about his only daughter’s ordeal, Badri said he had just returned home after 10:30pm on December 16 from his shift at Delhi airport where he works as a loader.
His wife was worried after Jyoti, a medical school graduate, had not returned home from the cinema.

Badri said: “We started calling her mobile and her friend’s mobile but there was no answer.

“Then at 11.15pm we got a call from the hospital in Delhi telling me my daughter had been in an accident.”

Badri asked a friend to take him on a motorbike.
He said: “When I first saw her she was in the bed with her eyes closed.
“I put my hand on her forehead and called her name. She slowly opened her eyes and started crying and said she was in pain.
“I held my tears. I told her not to worry, have strength and everything will be all right.”

At the time Badri still didn’t know what had happened. A policeman finally explained. Jyoti and her friend Awindra Pandey, 28, had boarded a bus to get home but had been taken on a two-and-a-half hour ride to hell by the driver, his assistant and four passengers.
Both were battered with iron bars and Jyoti was repeatedly raped before they were stripped and dumped on a road leading to Delhi airport – yards from where Badri was working.
He said: “I immediately called my wife and sons and told them to come to the hospital. But I couldn’t tell them about the rape.”

For the first ten days Jyoti was in and out of consciousness and it was hopeful she would survive. Badri said: “Doctors did their best to save her. She spoke a few times but mostly through gestures. She had a feeding pipe in her mouth making it difficult for her to speak.
But she did write on some paper that she wanted to live, she wanted to survive and stay with us. But it was fate that had the last say in the end.”
Jyoti gave the police two statements, but Badri was too distraught to sit in as he couldn’t listen to what his daughter had been subjected to.
“My wife was with her through the statements but she cried so much after hearing it all,” Badri said.

“She then told me what happened. I don’t have the words to describe the incident. All I can say is they’re not human, not even animals. They’re not of this world.

“It was just gruesome and I hope no one ever goes through what she had to endure.

“She cried a lot, she was in a lot of pain. And as soon as she saw her mother and brothers she cried again.

“But after that she was a courageous girl, even trying to console us and give us hope that everything will be all right.”

Doctors were forced to remove Jyoti’s intestines and as her conditioned worsened, they flew her to Singapore for specialist care on Boxing Day.
Badri said: “I told her everything would be OK and we’ll soon be back home. She was excited when we talked about going home and she smiled.
“I put my hand on her forehead, she asked me if I’d had any dinner and then she gestured for me to go to sleep. I held her hand and kissed it. I told her to take rest and not to worry and she closed her eyes.”

Jyoti was moved to Mount Elizabeth Hospital for medical treatment before her death

As Jyoti battled for life, thousands took to the streets to demand the hanging of the six accused and a new anti-rape law. But three days later on December 29 she had a fatal heart attack.

Badri said: “I so desperately wanted her to survive, even though she would have to live with a memory of that attack and get through her trauma.
“We’re so devastated that she’s gone. There’s a huge void in our lives. She was the centre of our universe. Our lives revolved around her.

“Her absence is so painful, a future without her is unimaginable.”
Badri said Jyoti’s friend Awindra was not her boyfriend – just a very brave friend who tried to save her.

He said: “There was no question of her marrying because we belong to different castes.

“She never expressed a desire to marry. She was concentrating on her studies and wanted a job first.”
Badri also revealed that Jyoti often mentioned how much Awindra tried to save her.

“She kept telling her mother he tried his best to help but they kept beating him with a rod.”
Badri now cherishes the memories of his daughter. He remembers her dream of being a doctor.

He said: “I told her I can’t afford to pay for her to do such subjects but she was determined. She wanted to be a doctor and earn lots of money and go overseas a lot.”

When Badri first moved to Delhi in 1983 he earned just 150 Rupees a month – the equivalent of £1.70 today.

But he sold some land to pay for his daughter’s studies and saved as much as possible from his 5,700 Rupees (£65) a month he now earns.
Badri said: “It’s hard living in Delhi on my wages, very hard. But Jyoti always said she would change all of that. She wanted to change our lives once she got a job.”

Jyoti had only just finished her four-year course in physiotherapy at college outside Delhi. She was doing an internship when she was attacked.
Her brothers, Gaurav Singh, 20, and Saurav Singh, 15, were close to their big sister and cannot image how they will cope.
Gaurav said: “Life is going to be so difficult without her. Without her guidance I don’t know what to do or how to go about life again.”
Badri and all the family have been touched by the way the nation has supported them.

He said: “The people of India have given us strength to cope up with our loss. I feel she’s not just my daughter but also India’s daughter.
“I used to read about rape incidents in the newspapers but never digested it much. We’re so thankful to the people who came out to protest against the barbarity.”

DNA tests have linked five men and a 17-year-old from the bus with rape and murder. The men will appear at the District Court in the Saket area of the Indian capital tomorrow. The 17-year-old will be tried separately as a juvenile.
Badri now hopes mothers and fathers will teach their sons to respect women.
He said: “The police cannot handle this on their own. But parents need to keep an eye on their children too.”

Badri’s face lit up when he spoke of Jyoti’s dreams and invited us to look through his family album. Each photo showed his beautiful daughter smiling. In most she is wears western clothes, which she favoured over the traditional sari. She also always wore her long, dark shiny hair down and flowing – never tied up.

In respect with Badri’s wishes he has asked us not to picture her.
Releasing a photo of her is for another day.
Indian law prohibits naming a rape victim unless she authorises it or, if she is dead, her family agrees to it.
At the moment it is enough for the devastated family to sanction the release to the world of their precious daughter’s name.

mindsets by lighting candles, he

when they need help".

Bangalore’s Shame : 3 Minors Raped

Three minor girls were allegedly raped in separate incidents in Bangalore. In all the incidents that were reported on Tuesday, the accused lured the girls with toffees.

An eight-year-girl was allegedly raped by an unidentified man on Modi Road near Devarajeenanahalli on Monday night.

The  victim, Asima (name changed), a resident of Shivajinagar had gone with her grandmother and uncle to a relative’s house at DJ Halli for a post-funeral ritual.

According to the police, the incident took place around 10 pm when she was playing alone near Hussain mosque. An unidentified man, who lured the girl with toffees, allegedly raped her in an isolated place. Later, he brought her back and escaped.

On Tuesday morning, her grandmother, who noticed Asima’s disturbed sleep the previous night, took her to a nursing home, where doctors informed her that Asima had been sexually harassed.

Her family then filed a complaint. Asima was admitted to Ambedkar Hospital and was later shifted to M S Ramaiah Hospital.

The D J Halli police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the accused.

In another incident, a 17-year-old hearing-impaired and mute girl, was allegedly raped by her neighbour on Monday evening at  Maachohalli near Nelamangala.

According to the police, the incident took place around 8 pm when Kala was alone. Her father had taken her mother, who was suffering from severe backache, to a hospital. Prakash lured Kala with toffees and took her on a motorcycle to an isolated place and allegedly raped her. Around 9.30 pm after returning home, her parents noticed the girl missing. The neighbours told them they had seen her with Prakash.
As her parents went looking for her, Prakash brought her back to the shed and escaped. Kala, who looked disturbed, explained in signs what Prakash did to her.

Kala was reportedly raped four months ago by another man, but the police had discouraged the parents from filing a complaint.

Her father along with locals filed a complaint in Madanayakanahalli police station and Prakash was arrested.

Delhi Rape Victim’s Ashes Immersed In Ganga

Ashes of the Delhi gang-rape victim were on Tuesday immersed in the river Ganga at Bharauli ghat here as hundreds of people, including women and children, bid adieu to the braveheart with teary eyes.

The ashes were brought to her ancestral village by the family late on Monday evening. On Tuesday morning, the family members started from the house around 8 am to immerse the ashes at Bharauli ghat.
As the crowd swelled with people pouring in to pay their last tributes to the victim, it took the family members almost three hours to cover a distance of 8 kilometres.

At Bharauli ghat the family members, including her father and brother, accompanied by local MLA Upendra Tiwari, immersed the ashes. They broke down during the immersion.

As a mark of tribute to the braveheart, a primary school in her native village Medwar Kalan here will be named after her.

In several parts of the country, however, rapes and other crimes against women continued unabated. At least eight cases of rape were reported on Tuesday.

INDIA - To Mark Jan 3 As Black Day

India is ashamed as women across the country are mistreated, physically and sexually assaulted on a daily basis. Abnormal rise in crime against women has horrified everyone. After the brutal gang-rape of a 23-year-old paramedical student in a moving bus in national capital, the entire country seems to be saying, "enough is enough". People have hit the streets to protest and demand safety for womenfolk.

Protests are continuously going on in New Delhi for last two weeks. Although government did its best to clamp down on the protests by inflicting police brutalities, but agitators are in no mood to end the protests till justice is delivered.

India to mark Jan 3 as Black Day Carrying forward their agitations, protesters have decided to mark January 3 as Kaala Diwas (Black Day).

Brainchild of petticoatjournal.com, an online magazine devoted to women's issues, the day will see protesters condemning atrocities against women.

5 Things Women Want From Their Men

 Love, love and love:

This is one of the basic things that women want from their men. Being loved is one of the most cherished and desired wishes of a person. Even if you love your lady, you have to assure her every now and then. Men find it difficult to express their love and feelings towards their women and that is why, women always feel that their men are only behind them to fulfill his basic needs. Every woman in this world would want this from her man.

Fill my empty ring finger:

Diamonds are a girl's best friend. We all know that. Even men do, but they pretend to act smart by avoiding this fetish of their women. Getting proposed to with a solitaire or a favourite diamond ring is what women would always want from their men. So, if she is showing off her empty finger to you every now and then, take the hint!

Shopping:

Women love shopping. That is why they always want their men to shop with them. Men on the other hand do not like this habit of women. It is not because of finances only, but men are not into shopping like women. They pick up what they like immediately and do not like entering many shops in a confused state of mind.

 A romantic candle light dinner:

Women are really romantic! They would want to go on a date with their men. Nothing can be more tempting and romantic than a candle light dinner. Women expect that their men will surprise them with a candle light dinner.

Honesty is the best policy:

Okay so you want to sleep but your woman has forced you to watch a romantic flick. You end up sleeping while your woman is watching the flick expecting you are taking mental notes. When she catches you sleeping, she will get upset. So, be honest and tell her before that you do not like romantic flicks! If you be honest, you can avoid a lot of misunderstandings and fights.

Be protective not possessive:

Well, you should not try to show your possessiveness. There is a thin line between protectiveness and possessiveness. Being protective when she is around a lot of men is something she would love but showing possessiveness by stopping her from living her life her own way is something she would hate. If you want the freedom to hang out with friends for a beer or watch a cricket match at friend's place, then she would also expect some time with her friends.

These are few things that women want from their men. Do you agree?

The six accused in the Delhi gangrape case had allegedly tried to mow the girl down under the bus after dumping her in south-west Delhi but her male friend saved her from being crushed.

As the Delhi Police is set to submit its charge sheet before the trial court on Thursday, more details of the horrific crime that has shaken the nation's conscience are tumbling out.

The victim, a paramedical student, was gangraped in the moving bus on December 16, brutally assaulted and then thrown out of he vehicle along with her male friend, a software engineer, who was also thrashed.

The girl and her friend were returning from the Saket mall after watching a film 'Life of Pi' and had boarded the chartered bus at Munirka for Dwarka not knowing it was plying illegally. The minor among the accused had called for passengers telling them that it was going towards their destination.

The sources said when the girl and her friend entered the bus, they found a total of six persons who were not passengers and were known to each other.

The accused allegedly passed lewd comments at the girl to which the male friend objected to and picked up an argument.

"They asked him where he was taking her and this resulted in the argument. They first assaulted the boy with iron rods and when the girl tried to protect her friend, they beat her up also. When she resisted, they got enraged and sexually assaulted her," the sources said.

And then the accused allegedly tried to drive the bus over the girl but she was pulled aside in the nick of time by her male friend.

As she was pinned down and raped, the brave young woman put up a fight but was hopelessly outnumbered. She bit three of the men assaulting her. The bite marks on the three accused men are likely to be part of the Delhi Police's evidence in their charge sheet, the sources said..

The sources said that 50-page charge sheet will be filed before a fast-track court on January 3. The main charge sheet will be accompanied by hundreds of pages of annexures, they said.

Charges of gangrape, murder, kidnapping, criminal assault and robbery among other sections of the IPC that will be pressed against five of the six accused while police would send a separate report to the Juvenile Justice Board for the trial of the 17-year-old allegedly involved in the case.

The sources said the prosecution during the trial would demand death penalty for the five accused in connection with ghastly incident.

The Singapore doctor, who carried out the postmortem of rape victim, will be included as a witness by the Delhi Police in its charge sheet, the sources said.

The male friend of the victim will be the main witness in the case while the Singapore doctor, who carried out the postmortem and the Indian mission official who received her death certificate, would be asked to testify, they said.

The sources said under the Indian law, it was mandatory for a doctor carrying out a postmortem in a medico-legal case to be made a witness.

They said none of the accused has been made approver as the police has managed to prepare a "tightly knit" case against them. The girl had died in the Singapore hospital on Saturday.

The fast-track court for the case is likely to be notified by the government tomorrow, the sources said. They said the annexures to the charge sheet will include case diaries and statements of nearly 30 witnesses.

In addition to these, the police would also produce as evidence CCTV footage of the mall where the victim along her friend had gone to watch the movie and forensic evidence collected from the bus, they said.

The girl went to see a New Year eve function in the area around 10.30 p.m. when a stranger, pretending to be her acquaintance, befriended her and took her away from the venue quietly.

A seven-year-old was allegedly raped late Monday by an unidentified person at DJ Halli in the northeast suburb of the city, a police official said Tuesday.

"We have formed three special teams to look out for the accused as the girl does not know him and is unable to give details. In the absence of clear evidence, we are waiting for the medical report to ascertain if she was raped or only an attempt was made," Bangalore east Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Krishna Bhat told IANS.

On a complaint by the girl and her father, the DJ Halli police station registered a case against the unknown accused under sections 363A and 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and rushed the victim to the nearby state-rum Ambedkar hospital for medical examination.

According to the girl's complaint and the first information report (FIR) filed by the police, the girl went to see a New Year eve function in the area around 10.30 p.m. when a stranger, pretending to be her acquaintance, befriended her and took her away from the venue quietly.

When she did not return home even two hours after midnight, her father went around the area in search of her but in vain.

"Though I went to the police station to report about my minor daughter missing around 3 a.m., I was told to come in the morning as all policemen were on nightlong security duty for New Year. By then, someone brought my girl to home finding her abandoned on the wayside of the main road," the father said.

The family learnt about the horrifying crime when the girl complained of pain in the abdomen area and her grandmother found her bleeding with stains on her clothes.

The victim was also not able describe what happened to her or recollect who took her away from the function and what he did to her as she was given some eatable and fell asleep.

"We have alerted all other police stations and intensified checks to prevent the accused escaping from the city. As a sexual assault on a minor is a serious crime, we are confident of cracking the case and nabbing the culprit soon," Bhat said.
