Siddharth, one of the industry’s most eligible bachelors despite his past hiccups with marriage, has stated that he is ready for marriage now more than ever. With an interview to a leading publication it is more or less determined that Siddharth and Samantha are indeed seeing each other.

The two will be seen onscreen together in a Telugu film titled Jabardasth, the Tamil version Dum Dum Pee Pee though has been stalled due to legal issues. Siddharth and Samantha’s pairing up was made even more obvious as they, along with their family, performed rituals together at a famous temple recently.

Siddharth has mentioned in the interview that he would like to have a family and children real soon and it looks to be only a matter of time before an official announcement is made by either one of the stars.

Vishwaroopam: A Riveting Spy Thriller

Andrea and Kamal Haasan in Vishwaroopam ..

We were one of the few to have watched an early screening of Vishwaroopam in its entirety before talks of the ban emerged in Hyderabad. In content and technical finesse, the film breaks new ground for regional cinema. In these troubled times, it must be emphasized that the film does not hurt sentiments of any community.

Everyone here has a double role to play, Andrea Jeremiah tells Pooja Kumar at a crucial juncture in the film. Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam is a technically brilliant, ambitious film where most characters are not what they seem. The actor-director deals with an international espionage drama through a layered screenplay, trusting the intelligence of his audience to connect the different threads of the story.

Vishwanath (Kamal Haasan) is a Kathak teacher who lives with his wife Nirupama (Pooja Kumar), a nuclear oncologist, in New York. Nirupama confides it’s a marriage of convenience that provided her a safe shelter while she pursued her Ph.D in the U.S. The age gap between them notwithstanding, she is put off by Vishwanath’s effeminate traits. She smells something fishy about her husband and hires a private investigator to trail his every move.
In a sudden turn of events, the investigator gets killed by a member of a terrorist outfit. A visiting card on his purse gives away the names of Vishwanath and Nirupama and the terror group nabs the couple. The outfit operates from a warehouse and is headed by Omar (Rahul Bose), severely injured from the past.

Omar and Vishwanath have a past, one that takes the story back by almost a decade, to the Al Qaeda training camps in Afghanistan. What follows is a maze of events that go back and forth in time, unravelling an international spy thriller that keeps you guessing for most parts.

Nirupama is stunned to discover the true identity of her husband, his uncle (a cameo by Shekar Kapur) and the young dancer (Andrea Jeremiah) at her husband’s dance school. Together, they try to counter the plans of Omar and his group that could destroy New York.

Vishwaroopam is engaging, keeps you engrossed and as you try to make a semblance of the puzzle, several questions arise. Kamal Haasan sets up an interesting premise for part 2.

Sanu Varghese’s spectacular cinematography becomes as important as the actors in this thriller. The camera takes us into the dangerous alleys of New York and the muddy, rugged terrain of Afghanistan. In the opening sequence involving pigeons, Varghese captures the mood of the birds giving us a hint of an ominous force at work.

The songs composed by Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy gel with the narrative of the film and the trio experiments with different genres to offset the mood in Afghanistan.

Pooja Kumar is expressive and convincing as a young woman coming to terms with her husband’s identity all of a sudden. Andrea Jeramiah has a smaller role and according to the makers, she has a crucial role in Vishwaroopam 2. Rahul Bose is menacing, with his tarnished look and damaged voice making him appear more evil.

Kamal Haasan morphs from identity to the other with ease, like he’s done several times in the past. He draws chuckles with his effeminate gestures and delivers an understated performance in the Afghan segment.
It’s a film that needs to be watched closely to follow the different aspects of the story. The graphic violence in some sequences make it unfit for viewing by children.

Vishwaroopam is a good watch for a discerning movie lover.

Cast: Kamal Haasan, Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah, Rahul Bose and Shekar Kapur
Direction: Kamal Haasan
Music: Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy
Plot: A couple and their friends try to save New York from a terrorist threat.
Bottomline: A gripping spy thriller of international standards

Woman Home Guard Molested on Delhi Bus - This Wednesday

A 25-year-old woman home guard was molested inside a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus here Wednesday, police said. The accused was thrashed by a mob, hospitalised and later booked.

The incident took place in a low-floor bus in east Delhi's Madhu Vihar area.

Police said the accused, Ranjit, 32, was handed over to police after he was beaten up by other passengers on the bus.

His leg had a fracture and he was taken to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, said a police officer. He was discharged after treatment and booked for molestation.

The incident took place after the home guard, in uniform, boarded a bus plying between Anand Vihar and Mehrauli to go to a police station where she was posted. As soon as the bus reached Indraprastha Extension, the accused started misbehaving with her.

Asaram Bapu Shocks, Telling Girl Is Only Responsible for Delhi Gangrape, Demands To Save Rapists

Addressing his followers recently, Asaram said that when the girl encountered six drunk men "she should have taken God's name and could have held the hand of one of the men and said I consider you as my brother and should have said to the other two 'Brother I am helpless, you are my brother, my religious brother.'

She should have taken God's name and held their hands and feet...then the misconduct wouldn't have happened."

He also went on to say, "Mistake is not committed from one side."

The girl was gangraped on the night of December 16 in a moving bus and died nearly a fortnight later at a Singapore hospital.

"The accused were drunk. If the girl had chanted hymns to Goddess Saraswati and to Guru Diksha then she wouldn't have entered the bus...," he added.

 My Question Is:

Will Mr. Asaram  Bapu tell the same advice to her daughter, if she is raped by six men brutally at time .. ??

Mr. Asharam, remember that its easy to hurt by words .. But, it ll pain a lot to the victim's family.

Woman Raped, Burnt Alive For Rejecting Marriage Proposal

A 25-year-old mother of two was allegedly gangraped before being burnt alive for having spurned a man who wanted to marry her, police said on Tuesday.

The victim was raped by four men, including three brothers distantly related to her, at her Adarsh Gharkul building residence in Antop Hill locality of central Mumbai on Monday and then set ablaze. She succumbed to burn injuries at a city hospital early on Tuesday morning during treatment.

The accused, identified as Rajesh Devendra (30), Kumar Devendra (28), Nitya Devendra (25)-- (all three are brothers) --and their friend Shankar Mudaliyar (35) have been arrested.

Though the police said the exact motive behind the cruel act was being investigated, a relative alleged she was killed as the family had rejected Nitya Devendra's proposal to marry her a few years ago.
"Nitya wanted to marry her, but we rejected the proposal for some reasons," said Krishna Reddy, a relative of the deceased.

Police said the victim was alone when the desperadoes forced their way into her house. "According to the victim's dying declaration, the four raped her one by one. When she told them that she will lodge a police complaint, they set her on fire after pouring kerosene," said senior inspector D N Deokar of Antop Hill police station.

The victim's husband Raju Devendra, who works as a sweeper in civic body office in suburban Chembur, and her two children -- a three-year-old daughter and an infant son -- were not present in the house when the incident occurred, Deokar said.

He said the four were arrested on the basis of her dying declaration. The accused brothers live in the same building while their friend Mudaliyar stays in the same locality.
Rajesh and Kumar work as security supervisors with a developer while Nitya works in a motorbike Showroom. Shanker is a driver by profession.

Fasting Protester At Jantar Mantar Hospitalised

One of the two men on hunger strike demanding death for the culprits in the Delhi gang-rape case here had to hospitalised Sunday due to failing health, his brother said.

Rajesh Gangwar, 45, from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh, came to Delhi Dec 24. His hunger strike entered its 14th day Sunday, when he was taken to nearby Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in the evening.

"He was feeling very weak and the cold weather was taking its toll as well. He did not want to go and was determined to stay here, but he needed help immediately," Rakesh Gangwar, Rajesh's brother, told IANS.
Gangwar was agitating along with Babu Singh, 40, a farmer from Farrukhabad, also in Uttar Pradesh, who is on day nine of his fast. Singh now holds fort at the historic Jantar Mantar observatory in the heart of the capital.

"I will continue the hunger strike until proper punishment is meted out to those involved in the crime. I am not giving up that easily," Singh told IANS as he wished Gangwar speedy recovery.

Both men braved the Delhi winter, as the city's minimum temperature this year plunged to new lows.
The two men have also been demanding fast-track courts across the country to try rape cases, and three months' disposal time for all such cases.

Two more organistaions -- Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena (BSKS) and the 'Citizen 4 Forces' -- began an indefinite hunger strike in the national capital.

"I demand speedy justice for the gang-rape victim. I have decided to sit on an indefinite hunger strike till that happens," said Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, president of BSKS.
